You can get a competitive edge with us by studying with professionally active professors. So whether you're interested in cinematography, editing, sound, we've got faculty who are working in that in the industry. Active producers, directors, writers, and also academics who are studying the field. I really had passion for storytelling, and really wanted to learn how to do that-- not just writing but also producing, directing. And then I realized AU had a film program, and they give you the resources to seek out what you're interested in and then build those skills. And I just thought it was really important to pick a school that was going to support me as a filmmaker, who hadn't had any formal training or formal experience in it before. So it just made sense to come here. Our newly renovated Media Production Center has state of the art facilities, including studio and our equipment room. Our equipment room has all the equipment that the student might need, including dark rooms, digital labs, and chemical lab. We have a lot of opportunities with experiential learning-- So one of my favorite experiential learning opportunities was getting to learn how to do analog film, learning about the technical aspects, learning more about, you know, aperture, shutter speed, ISO film speed, and what that really means for an artistic end. So it's been a really meaningful experience. We have strong relationships with production companies in this area-- Will Interactive, Red Pixel, National Geographic, the Smithsonian, the Newseum, Discovery. There are many networking opportunities for students studying with us. One to highlight is our LA intensive program, where students go to LA for about a week. And they meet alumni, they meet industry professionals, they take tours of facilities and studios, sometimes leading to job and internship opportunities, right then and there. A lot of our alumni go into the industry in all kinds of positions. Anedra Edwards, an alumni of our program, just recently worked as a visual effects editor for WandaVision . Alumni, Jay Jamison recently completed his first feature length film, and that led to an offer with the CW, where he now works in the writers room for Superman and Lois.
